Why Study Abroad

The decision to study abroad is a very important one. Often times, studying abroad can be very beneficial; this article will list out some of the top reasons to study abroad.

Education

One of the primary reasons for studying abroad is your education. As mentioned before, studying abroad gives you the opportunity to pursue what interests you or explore new courses. Many premier institutes give you the chance to spark a new interest or discover a new side of your major that you never knew before.

You could also experience a different system of education. The curriculum could include something new, or it could feature a completely new grading system. It all depends on the location of your college.

By studying abroad, you can also give yourself the chance to take your studies to the next level. For example, if you are interested in History, and in particular the Renaissance, go to Italy and further your studies. Experience the historical evidence of the Renaissance firsthand!

Culture / Life Experience

Who doesn’t want to learn about the different cultures and customs of other countries? It is incredibly fascinating to find out more about other cultural perspectives. It gives you a fresh outlook on many aspects. Experience new foods, traditions, and festivals!

You will have the opportunity to experience a completely new way of life.

See the world

If you have always dreamed of seeing the huge skyline of New York, or Big Ben in London, there is no better opportunity to see it than to study there! You will have free time while attending college, so why not see the world?

Not only that, you can explore countries and cities around your university. For example, if you are studying in London, you can take a train to Paris – just 450 km away. This is the easiest time to travel.

Connections (network)

When you study abroad, you make new friends and connect with more people (no, I am not talking about Facebook!). For instance, if you go to college at Harvard University in the USA, you will have the chance to meet up and be friends with the children of some of the most influential people in the world. Imagine pursuing an acting career at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and meeting Shah Rukh Khan’s son there! His friendship can get you places later.

Resume/CV

Finally, studying in a foreign country looks great on your CV or resume. It gives you good credentials. You can claim internships and jobs at big companies with a high starting salary, and gradually make your way to the top.

That was some of the main reasons because of which you would want to study abroad. Although studying abroad gives you benefits like those mentioned above, there are also advantages to studying in your home country. Please think thoroughly and do not make a rash decision on your education. It will prove to be important in the future.
