Episode 24 – The Modern-Day Indiana Jones ft. Bhangya Bhukya

A historian studies and writes about the past, and is regarded as an authority on it. Historians are concerned with the continuous, methodical narrative and research of past events as relating to the human race; as well as the study of all history in time. If the individual is concerned with events preceding written history, the individual is a historian of prehistory.

Today we have with us Mr Bhangya Bhukya, an Indian Historian who has made significant contribution to the study of Banjara and Gond tribes of India. He did his MA and MPhil from Hyderabad Central University, India, and his PhD from the University of Warwick, UK, on a Ford Foundation International Fellowship. He is the author of  Subjugated Nomads: The Lambadas Under the Rule of the Nizams (2010) and Roots of the Periphery: A History of the Gonds of Deccan India (2017). He is currently working as a Professor at the University of Hyderabad.

Hi there! I'm Sachin and I run the Career Central Podcast! I started it off because I myself wasn't too sure about what I wanted to do. I realized a ton of my friends had the same problem, and so decided to broadcast interviews with eminent people. This way, students can learn from an insider's perspective and make informed decisions.
